Mark your calendars for the next annual USS Yorktown Association Reunion to be held October 8, 9, and 10 in Mt. Pleasant, Patriots Point, S.C. We look forward to seeing you there. Bring family and friends and get acquainted/reacquainted with your shipmates from the past. The venue for the 2009 Reunion will be very similar to years past, but expect some unique changes in the format and entertainment tours. This year the bash kicks off on Thursday with the All Hands registration at the Hampton Inn - Mt. Pleasant. We will also host a hospitality suite in the Hampton Inn during the three day event. Board meetings will also be held on Thursday. Then, on Thursday evening ... 
will be the Big Band Memories party in Hanger Bay 3. Mike Wolf Jazz Group will bring us musical memories from the 30-40's era. The party will be from 1900 to 2200. Friday will begin with the General Membership meeting at 0930 in the Smokey Stover Theater aboard ship in Hanger Bay 1. At 1030 will be the Memorial Service and following the Memorial Service will be a Buffet Lunch in Hanger Bay 3.  A tour of the Citadel and viewing of the Parade will be available at 1400. Plan to board the bus at the Hampton Inn. Saturday offers a tour of Historic Charleston and a visit to Middleton Place. The bus for this tour will board at 0900 at the Hampton Inn and returns at approximately 1500. Another event on Saturday is the Meet & Greet starting at 1000 aboard ship. Visitors to the Yorktown will be able to meet crew members who are attending the reunion. This event was held for the first time last year and was a big hit for everyone. Come and share your real life experiences while aboard the Fighting Lady as a crewmember with young people who will be visiting the Yorktown on Saturday, October 10. 
Finally, the Yorktown Night of Patriotism will be held at Patriots Point on the ship from 1830 - 2130. We will have a Cash Bar, heavy hors d' oeuvres, plus dancing to the Tommy Ford Band. This band has played for us for many years now and is considered "a part of the crew". Attire is coat and tie with something Naval/Marine patriotic. Ladies please dress accordingly. During this event there will be a silent auction, live auction, 50/50 raffle and a special prize raffle. Below is Hotel Information. Prices are good until September 6, 2009.
